Forum sobre la Formación en Psicoanálisis, 30 Noviembre – 2 Diciembre, Bruselas | Forum on Education 30 November – 2 December, Brussels

The Forum on Education offers a place and time to share different experiences and ways of thinking among European analysts. It is open to both training and supervising analysts.
This year it will take place again in the EPF House in Brussels at 35 rue Gérard, 1040 Brussels (Etterbeek).

The topic of the plenary lectures on Saturday morning will be «Seminar teaching in psychoanalytic training». In the small group discussions on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning we will talk about special situations in supervision.

During our own training there is no focus on facilitation of abilities to teach candidates in psychoanalysis. Requirements for teaching psychoanalysis surely demand specific capabilities and are therefore worthy of careful reflection. This year, we want to offer a possibility to think about questions of aims and methods of seminar teaching.

We will listen to three lectures, given by Henrik Enckell (Finland), Charlotta Björklind (Sweden) and Ann-Mari Rytöhonka (Finland). Henrik Enckell will give an introduction, Charlotta Björklind will talk about «What is the objective of the theoretical seminars – implicit and explicit understanding of the aims of teaching in psychoanalytic training» and Ann-Mari Rytöhonka will give a paper with the title «From a candidate point of view – experiences of teaching in the seminars».

On Friday evening the Forum will begin with a welcome cocktail and Jorge Canestri (President of EPF) and Eva Schmid-Gloor (Vice President of EPF) will welcome the participants in the EPF House. Saturday morning we will start with the plenary sessions and later break up into small groups, where colleagues will present special situations in supervision.

We will work in small groups the whole afternoon. On Sunday, we will begin with another small group session before attending a closing plenary. The Forum will finish at 1:00 p.m.
